SPOT & STAIN REMOVAL
SPOTS AND SPILLS
If you have a spill on your carpet or upholstery often, the longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to remove the spot or stain.
A spot is anything on or in the fibre that has not bonded to it or to the dyes; it’s generally easy to remove. A stain has by definition altered the fibre and / or dye in it, and this damage cannot be completely reversed. It’s a permanent change. In many cases, we can still manipulate the fibres and dye chemicals to further change, thus improving the appearance of the stain – in many cases to the extent that it’s no longer visible!
PET STAIN TREATMENT
The key to effectively removing pet stains is to treat them immediately, and treat them properly. Improper cleaning methods may set a pet stain permanently. Inadequate removal of pet stain odors may lead to repeat offenses and additional damage.
STAINGAURD TREATMENT
Many carpets and upholstered furnishings are treated with a stain protector at the factory. This protector wears off over time. This gradual removal is accelerated along the high traffic areas on carpet or the upholstered chairs that are used the most. We can reapply the protector. This restores the stain resistant properties which can extend the life of your carpet and give you a chance to clean or treat any spills before they become permanent stains. We use a high grade floropolymer Carpet Protector product which unlike some protector products does not contain high VOC constituents and can be applied to newly cleaned carpet or upholstery even if it’s not fully dry. When applied, it creates an ‘invisible barrier’ between your carpet and its surroundings. It stops liquids from becoming absorbed into the fibres, thus helping prevent permanent staining and issues such as mould growth and odour.
STAINGUARD also helps prevent dirt and grime from becoming caught in the carpet, which means that not only will your carpet end up less dirty but the next time you come to have it cleaned, the whole process will be more effective. This makes it a great investment, financially, because it means you may not have to use the services of professional cleaners so frequently.
